Set of leather upholstered early victorian painted side chairs:
This set of chairs arrived in very poor condition. While it was very much a restoration project, careful attention was given to preserving the original finish, preserving authenticity and character of the chairs. The original horse hair pads were also kept, and restitched with new heshin covers and additional hair.

Pair of oak victorian side chairs with ebonised relief and turnings:
The original horsehair pads were kept and re-stitched with a new hessian cover. New horse hair stuffing was used where necessary to componsate for loss. The pads on the chair backs were also kept and re-stitched. All the turnings and carvings were re-ebonised before the chairs were wax polished and covered with the selected covering material.

Vernacular Furniture:
Nós were shortlisted for the “Objects Conservation Award” by the Heritage council of Ireland for their treatment of this Pine dresser with flying wheel motif. A wonderful example of a country dresser with all its layers of paint intact. These are a rare find nowadays as all too many were “dipped and stripped” to meet the demand of the country pine market. While objects such as this one are often percieved as having little value, they can provide us with precious information that helps create an understanding of our cutural heritage.
